Trying not to over research, Brugge was recommended by a dear friend, as somewhere to enjoy and explore. Who can pass up such a recommendation.
So I arrived in Brugge with little idea why it was recommended, but happy to find out over the course of a few days.

My first day of walking, happened upon a church with an external appeal, so why not stop. A small entry fee, and I am given a brochure in dutch. Within a minute, I was standing before a stunningly beautiful statue, set as the centre piece of a larger alter setting.
I am not a huge art buff, and admit my recognition of this piece came from enjoying the movie Monuments Men. Isn’t it nice to be surprised ?
Belgium are also famous for their Beer, and the 2BE bar (pictured below) did not disappoint, with hundreds of choices, and Beer Sampler menus.
Brugge is a walkable city, with a lot of charm.
