Walkies ! Dog owners know the importance and fun of walks, so when you are travelling, why stop enjoying walks while away from your furbabies ? How better to explore a new city, or in this case, exercise & experience fresh air and forestry to some stunning waterfalls & vistas ?
My Tasmanian Road Trip Waterfalls post is straight after this. Travelling for me is about the experiences and wonderful people I meet. Accumulating memories along the bucket list.
From a 6 month travel around Europe, my 18km walk around Stockholm is still one of the fondest memories, such a beautiful city. Vastly different to walking 29km up & back through Carnarvon Gorge more recently.
So to share, below are photos from wandering :-
- Cradle Mountain & Dove Lake
- Eaglehawk Neck in the Port Arthur region
- Cateract Gorge in Launceston
then the best of Charlottes Pass, Cape Tourville, Corrina on the west coast, the stunning Freycinet National Park & Wineglass Bay, Leven Canyon & its 697 steps, Liffey Falls, Mt Field National Park and some others.
Dove Lake at Cradle Mountain has many short walks to multi day hikes. Certainly a destination for many travellers, and no wonder why
Eaglehawk Neck has many natural features to explore, from the Tessellated Pavement, to Fossil Bay, Sea Cliffs, Tasman Arch and Devils Kitchen
Cateract Gorge is much more than the suspension bridge and chairlift. The ZigZag trail is a steep hike with great views to Kings Bridge where you can do a circuit back to the Alexandra Suspension Bridge. Very special space.
Mt Field National Park features the stunningly beautiful Russell Falls, and an enjoyable circuit walk to Lady Barron and back, but time to wrap up this post with the random highlights of many roadside stops.
DM or comment to share a walk that took your breathe away. I’m always looking to expand my Bucket List.
WILT – What I am listening to ?
Don’t try to read too much into these WILT’s, it’s often just that earworm from my music library
