I have spent the past 2 months back at Silverstar Mountain Resort BC Canada. It was time to test international travel again, post “the interruption”. Time to see the light 🙂 (photo pun)
Having reached out to many who have direct messaged me in the past, it seemed as though things were returning to normal, or at least, travelers have had enough of restrictions and are returning to places deemed to have minimized risk.
So how better to wear a mask and social distance, than Skiing !
Chatting to many on the lifts, there was a common theme, sensibly accepting the interruption is not over, but prioritizing physical & mental health.
Silverstar turned it on again, near record accumulations and fabulous conditions (most of the time). Many had visited other mountains, then come to Silverstar for the better snow.
Connecting with others is as important as the destinations along the way. The best memories are always the people you meet, sharing something they are passionate about.
I had the pleasure of catching up with good friends, and making new ones, including the Skitude Gang, lead by Zoffer, a mid 70’s charming person who only took up skiing 5 years ago. What an inspiration !
With this renewed experience, it’s time to return to Travel The Bucket List, with Europe on the agenda from November. Safe travels !
