Queensland Road Trip – Lookouts

Part 3 of the QLD Road Trip focuses on my stops to Lookouts.

As a motorcyclist, I often pick out twisty mountain roads to make the ride/drive more interesting, and so Lookouts are a great way to schedule a stop & stretch during my 80 odd hours of driving on this Covid Queensland Road Trip.

Norway does a fantastic job along its National Route to provide structured lookouts breaking up the drive, and Aksla at Alesund would have been one of my favourites, then there are many world famous vistas enjoyed after a long hike; but most of these were easily accessible.

Hard to single out the highlights. Babinda Gorge Lookout, whilst not significantly elevated, does have one of the most remarkable landscapes.

Then to my delight & surprise, Rockhamptons Mount Archer and Townsvilles Castle Hill were sensational, both featuring numerous walking tracks.

The rest were just welcome breaks along this adventure.

WILT – What I am listening to ?

Don’t try to read too much into these WILT’s, it’s often just that earworm from my music library
