New Year in Venice

Who could resist an authentic Venice apartment, just 50m from San Marco Square for New Years Eve ?   Some 150 islands connected by around 450 bridges await.

I hadn’t originally considered re-visiting any European place from 7 years ago, but this opportunity presented itself.

Murano

Murano

Last time I mainly walked Venice, exploring little alleys and getting deep. But I didn’t get to the islands last time, so Burano Murano & San Giorgio were achieved this time.

Happy to share tips on my experience of watching the NY Fireworks if you message me.

The other new experience, was Doges Palace. With advance booking, I secured a position in their Secret Itineraries Tour, which included visiting the Chamber of Inquisition & Torture room, and the famous Giacomo Casanova’s prison cell.

Burano is simply as joyful as it is colourful.
Doges Palace is one room after another of exquisite craftsmanship.
The Secret Itineraries Tour was well worth the advanced booking
And couldn’t resist walking the lane & waterways yet again.
