Travel The Bucket List

Lyon France

Coming from the Alps and heading to the Artic Circle, Lyon was a major airport with options. A town for transit. With little planning or expectation, a day walking to Lyon’s Old Town (Vieux Lyon) was met with surprising rewards, and a Girafe or 4……

Atop the old town, accessible by Funicular, the stunningly beautiful Basilica de Notre Dame of Fourviere awaits, right beside a Roman Theatre Theatre Gallo Romain de Lyon-Fourviere. Ok, more than expected.

The cobblestone street of Vieux Lyon was filled with quirky shops, cafe’s & restaurants, and the most amazing natural Watermelon Sorbet at Glacier Terre adélice LYON. Hard to leave, but my Airbnb Host recommended a visit to The Parc as well.

More colourful buildings and river crossings later, The Parc de la Tete d’Or was fabulous.

Quickly came upon Deer in the Parc, with many locals enjoying a seat and view of these noble creatures.

Following my feet towards an amusement area, I saw a Girafe walking past in the background. Not a coffee induced hallucination, but an actual Girafe.

Made my way further and discovered 4 Girafe wandering around an enclosure with some buffalo. Zebra’s, Otters, Flamingos and others were part of a free public zoo.

For a random transit day, Lyon turned on its charm.

WILT – What I am listening to ?

Don’t try to read too much into these WILT’s, it’s often just that earworm from my music library
