After enjoying (original condition) Loket Castle in Czechia, discovering a Ruins castle behind Baden-Baden in Germany was exciting.
A leisurely (lol) 3km elevated walk from the Spa town centre, was great for cardio, but just the start once there, climbing a number of staircases which avail views from the Tower and open ramparts.
It reminds me of Dunnottar Castle in Scotland. Recovered, not restored. Other than Hohenbaden Castle has been made safer to explore with a round of hand-rails.
It’s Free to visit, has modern amenities at the entry gate, parking and normally a cafe (closed for renovation).
A true feel of history as you clamber around dark dungeons, out onto platforms with commanding views of Baden Badenbade and surrounds, along exposed ramparts and up the Tower
WILT – What I am listening to ?
Don’t try to read too much into these WILT’s, it’s often just that earworm from my music library
