Travel The Bucket List

12 days in Ireland

Continuing the driving holiday run, I landed in Dublin early October for 3 nights to explore the city before making my way once around Ireland clockwise.  Seemed easier to ignore having a car while in Dublin, just to collect it on my way out.

Driving in Ireland was more about the places I would see along the way, than the places I stayed for the night, so the overnights were a matter of choosing cities or towns that were convenient after not too much of a drive.

In 12 nights, I stayed at Kilkenny, Cork, Killarney, Dingle, Galway, Donegal, Londonderry & Belfast before a final night back in Dublin to catch a plane to Edinburgh the next day.

From here you can follow my experience of Dublin, including visits to Dublin Castle, Guiness Storehouse, Trinity College and more.

After which, highlights of the Driving in Ireland experience included :-

Blarney Castle & The Rock of Cashel

The Ring of Kerry & The Dingle Peninsula

The Cliffs of Moher

Northern Ireland including Giants Causeway, the Dark Hedges & Newgrange

In general, the Emerald Isle turned on some beautiful weather early October. A bit of fog some mornings, but otherwise I would consider myself lucky from what I read elsewhere.
