Verbier near the French border, touts an expanse of off-piste areas. So the piste “runs” are basically setting up access to enjoy off-piste, without going back-country.
There is plenty of back-country for the adventurers who want to hike (photo beside), but lots of safe in-sight areas for those wishing to widen their abilities.
The village is essentially one main inclined street with the (swiss) expected shopping and high priced restaurants & pubs.
A nice network of free shuttle buses move people around, making starting lifts easier to get to.
Divided into 4 sections, Verbier 4 Vallees has 3 that are fairly easily accessible, and one to the west that is more work along “yellow” runs.
Venture away from Medran, the main Gondola, and the infrastructure is dated, ala the above Gondola to Savoleyres, from 1970. Time to head to Chamonix
