View of the Pyramids from plane arriving to Cairo
The Great Pyramids are what you first think of when Egypt is mentioned, so flying in from Rome, I was treated to this view from the plane.
Impressive without question.
Pyramids Sound & Light Show
Arriving a day before the tour started, I had the evening to see the Pyramids Sound & Light show from the hotels rooftop, and then do some visits before making my way to hotel where the organised tour started from.
Breakfast at the Pyramids View Hotel was at their rooftop dining area, with this (beside) magic view of the moon setting over the centre pyramid Khafre, as the sun rose.
A recommendation from fellow hotel guests hooked me up with a trustworthy local guide who assured me that while the organised tour would take me to the Great Pyramids, he would give a better and different perspective. And he did.
Finally, the more vivid image of the Great Pyramids, comes from the Sphinx.
