Australia used to have 2 high quality airlines, Qantas, and Ansett.
Ansett, at that time, had better service, more on-time flights, and with a large degree of business travel, my business partner & I joined Ansett’s Golden Wing club as Lifetime members
Ansett got bought out by Air New Zealand, run into the ground, and closed. No care for Australian customers, or decades of goodwill. Haven’t flown Air New Zealand since, and unlikely ever will.
Who knew Life, was so short ?
I now have airport lounge access via Black credit card benefits, but it often seems the lounges are just as packed, or more, than the departure gate. Sure there are drinks & food, power for laptops and occasional Wi Fi, but I would be very interested in the experience of others.
Are lounge & airline memberships worth it ?
