I had a lot of luck with the weather until now. People I talked to along the way, wanted me to stay longer; suggesting I had brought the good Australian weather with me. Oh well, it couldn’t last.
I parked at Hadrians Wall, paid and started making my way up the long incline to the museum and Fort ruins. I got through the museum, before the heavens opened while wandering the ruins, supported by blusteringly cold winds. Welcome to the UK.
So perhaps not the best frame to enjoy this historic site, but that’s travel for you. Weather. You can visit the most fabulous of places, and arrive during a Hurricane, sweltering heat, Monsoon rains, sleet and cold.
I have to laugh when I read tripadvisor reviews complaining about some place because of the weather. It is what it is, embrace it, and find things to do; or do nothing ! and make the most of every day and the circumstances.
