Bibury is one of those “photos” the internet is infamous for. A photographer obviously has spent a long time setting up a particular shot that makes it look truly beautiful.
Then there’s the everyday reality.
Arlington Row is heritage listed, and has character, but it was not the highlight of the area. The Swans in the River Coln, along with the autumn colours over the Swan Hotel, were far more memorable.
There’s that expectation thing again.
