Just north of Voss, the impressive viewing platform of Steigastein awaits.
There are a few places to pull over on the way up to this structure, and enjoy different aspects to this view; but they clearly got the position right with this one.
Very architecturally different, this bridge ends in it’s own “fall” with a forward leaning sheet of glass stopping you from going over. Anyone, like me, with a healthy fear of heights, will steer clear of the edge, but the adventurous will be rewarded with a unique viewing experience.
Much further along, north of Geiranger, is Trollstigen. This a a huge area, more walking involved than usual, but again, stunning outlooks, mixed with architectural difference.
As you decent the mountain heading north, take your time to enjoy the many Troll references 🙂
