My first day of driving Norway, had me head east from Bergan, and just a short distance south of the pretty town of Odda, you will come across this stunning twin waterfall, Latefossen.
There is a carpark just before, on the opposing roadside; and to take it all in, you really need that distance. A small arched bridge continues the road south, with the falls flowing strongly under the arches.
Crossing the road, you can get very close and personal to these falls. On my visit, even with only a light breeze, the mist off the thundering falls fell on my face and clothes. So many attractions are enjoyed at a distance; but Latefossen can be a much more personal experience.
There are so many waterfalls in Norway that you may see along the National Routes, but if their tourism has highlighted one, it’s fairly assured it will be memorable. Latefossen did not disappoint
