Where to be for New Years and Christmas was an important part of the travel plan, and New Years in Paris made the top of the list. i managed to find a very nice AirBnB next to Pont Neuf; an excellent position to explore Paris from.
A week to relax, visit the odd attraction, and enjoy coffee’s in the sidewalk cafes, watching the world go by.

And How to get cozy for New years in Paris
The longer into this 6 months of travel I get, the less interested I have become in the local attractions. Sure, they were the reason to visit one place over another, but perhaps 4 months later, I am starting to feel like a traveler, instead of a tourist.
Random conversations at café’s have become far more appealing than ticking off tourist attractions. Getting up each day, without a mission plan of what needs to be done; has replaced itinerary’s.
Sitting in the café’s, you start to recognise the tourist from the locals, and while there is still a language barrier, conversations with locals often reveals far more insight to things of potential interest.
With New Years behind me, it’s time to get skiing; as long as that front over Europe moves on soon.
