Coming out of Venice, my next points of interest were to visit the Lamborghini and Ferrari Museums.
Modena seemed the logical base to achieve this, but transport to the Lamborghini museum from Modena was sporatic; so a bit more research, and I found that Bologna had regular hourly buses to the Lamborghini Museum, making that access much more viable.
Ferrari have 2 museums, in Modena and Marenallo; with a regular dedicated shuttle service, so with many trains available from Bologna to Modena; Bologna became the 2 night base to enjoy these 3 museums.

Museo Enzo Ferrari in Modena, the “yellow” one which is more focused on the classics
Museo Ferrari in Marenallo, the “red” one with the newer cars, the GT’s and the Formula 1’s
Lamborghini’s Museum at Santa Angelo, a modest display of some elegant designs.
After travel from Venice, I really only had a day & a half in Bologna, first afternoon was Lamborghini, 2nd day was all Ferrari, and with inclement weather, I did not venture into Bologna central to explore, instead relaxed at my accom next to the main train station.
I did consider one of the many Drive a Ferrari or Drive a Lamborghini rental companies, but their rates (compared to Porsche & BMW) were significantly greater; and having now seen heavy traffic and on the days very wet roads, those drive experiences remain on the Bucket List.
