Featured in Game of Thrones and no doubt other film, the Dark Hedges are a short drive from Giants Causeway heading towards Belfast.

It’s a row of trees. (spoiler, sorry about that)
Old, twisty, narly and ominous trees.
The effect, standing on the road centre, is quite dramatic, no doubt heightened by sunrise or sunset, misty days or alike.
As I arrived though, the road was closed. I had read it could be quite crowded with visitors attempting to take the quintessential shot; but it’s being closed actualy made it better. They were setting up for filming a scene for the next Transformers, so truck loads of soil had be brought in to cover a long section of the road. The security were polite and happy to permit a wander down the newly closed road, subject to not interfering with workers. No problem.
So here are some photos of this unique attraction, even more unique in the fact it was closed and being “transformed”
Sadly, age and weather have taken out a couple of trees, giving the effect of missing teeth. You get the idea but grand effect from entry is no longer as continuous.
