St Michins got on the radar for it’s Crypts. Not everyones cup of tea, but intriguing.
The “attraction” is simple, cash only at a desk inside the entry. It does not profess to be more than itself; it has something quite unique, and gets to the point.
You meet inside the church, are briefly explained what you are about to see, then lead outside to the side of the church where you see cellar doors. No photography permitted, and given it’s a church and the subject matter; is easy to respect.
The crypts house many coffins in tombs in various states of condition, but the highlight is the mummy’s; amazingly preserved, in an environment that should not have created these mummies.
Fascinating.
