I booked this early to ensure a seat on one of the Zodiac tours. They have a cheaper tour on amphibians, but the Zodiacs cover much more water, and will take you the 7km to the glacier face; a lot more fun if you can justify the added cost.
The icebergs in the lagoon are varied in style and colours (as seen in the gallery below). We witnessed a section shear off while on the tour, creating a wave as it bobbed it’s way into the lagoon.
This was a highlight of my trip to Iceland.
