Driving towards this site, I could see the massive jet of water from miles away, heightening expectations and excitement. Parking was one the opposite side of the road adjacent to a very nice café with souvenirs. You cross the road and walk up a slight incline toward the Geysir, and as it erupts every few minutes, your first experience will likely be had before getting to the roped off viewing.
Again, just a small rope, circling the Geysir, where you quickly work out which way the wind is blowing the water, and then take a vantage spot to enjoy the show. I spent about an hour here, watching at least a dozen eruptions.
The colour in the water as the bubble rises is stunning. Mesmerizing. This is a natural wonder that you must experience.
