A short drive from Cairo gets you to the stepped pyramid of Saqqara. As this was only an option for the tour I was attending, I encouraged my private guide to take me there after the visit to the Great Pyramids.

This was my first encounter with Colour. Reliefs that showed blues, reds, blacks and all untouched and original (as i was told). I did not know how more vivid the colours could be until visiting the Valley of the Kings, so glad I saw this one first.
