Final stay in Germany, up to Berlin from Nuremberg, to visit some landmarks and continued my slowed pace to Prague for Christmas.
AirBnB accom opposite Mall or Berlin proved an excellent location from which to walk to Brandenburg Gate, the Jewish Memorial & Pergamon Museum, Checkpoint Charlie and Christmas Markets.
My return from the amazing Pergamon Museum, with it’s huge reconstructed Gates; took me to an early dinner at the Gendarmenmarkt Christmas markets, an hour or so before the Truck incident about 30 minutes away on the west side with the Breitscheidplatz Christmas markets.
A reminder that there is risk associated with everything we do, but everyone needs to be comfortable with their acceptance of risk. You can’t stop living each day to the fullest, on the potential of such a senseless action. Thoughts are with those directly affected, and the support people who have to deal with the consequences.
Travel safe, but get out there and travel.
